Internal Family Systems with Presence Integration

This 16 hour virtual program for mental health professionals covers the theory and protocol of the IFS model. Small group practice led in break-out rooms will be led by certified IFS therapists and/or IFS therapists with advanced IFS training. Presence practices that help clients increase awareness of SELF will be included.

In order to meet participants’s various learning styles, and to help reinforce the material presented, the IFS model with will be taught incrementally. Each step will be first presented didactically with power point slides, then demonstrated with a live or video session excerpt, followed by break-out room triad groups where participants can practice what they just learned. These interactive triad groups will consist of 20 minute sessions where each participant will have an opportunity to be a “therapist”, “client”, and “observer”. Participants are not required to work with personal material when they are the client and can “present” a client’s part. Each triad group will be supported and guided by an IFS therapists who have completed at least one year long IFS training, and has been selected for their striking ability to understand the model and for their warmth and Presence.
This program is geared toward mental health professionals who are beginners to IFS.

Michelle is a certified IFS therapist, and has approved by the IFS Institute to offer therapists IFS consultation toward IFS their certification.

CEs:
Social workers: 16 CEs approved by NASW-NJ.
LMFT's and LPCs:
NASW-NJ CE's meet requirements for LMFTs and LPCs in NJ and most states. Please check with your state's licensing body to confirm approval for LPCs and LMTs outside of NJ.
Psychologists:
Commonwealth Educational Seminars is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. Commonwealth Educational Seminars maintains responsibility for these programs and their content.

- Define IFS terms: Protectors, Exiles, Self and Blended.
- Describe the difference between IFS managers and firefighters.
- Name 3 of the “C” words to describe Self.
- Demonstrate how to help client Unblend from a part.

curiosity and compassion for one of their parts
- List the first 4 F’s of the IFS model.
- Name 2 ways to help a Protector to Step back so Self can Lead
-List the 5 Steps of the Internal Family Systems

-Describe how to introduce mindfulness techniques
to clients.
-Explain how mindfulness exercises can be used to
reduce anxiety and depression.
- Explain the difference between mindfulness and presence.
- Explain the difference between presence and Self.
-Demonstrate how to present 3 presence practices to clients.

Withdrawals/Refunds: Participants who wish to withdraw from the training program must do so in writing. If cancellation occurs prior to 7 days before the first day of training begins, 80% of tuition will be refunded. If cancellation occurs 3 to 7 days before the first day of training, 50% of tuition will be refunded. Participants are responsible for paying for sessions attended or missed prior to withdrawal.

Confidentiality:

Grievance Policy: If an attendee has a grievance, please put grievance in writing and submit to Michelle Lepak, LCSW as soon as possible. Grievances will be responded to with 24 hours. Grievances will be heard and attempts will be made to resolve the grievance. Confidentiality: Because this is a professional course and not psychotherapy sessions, hippa-compliance is not required. However, because of the experiential nature of the training, we make effort to create confidentiality. All attendees will be granted admission to each virtual meeting individually. All meetings will have a zoom passcode. We require that member do not record any part of the training. We will limit cloud recording by initializing "end to end encryption" and limit the chance of cloud sharing, We request that members hold confidential the identifying information of other participants as long as doing so (1) does not compromise anyone’s safety, health or wellbeing, and/or (2) does not prevent the disclosure of information reported to appropriate law enforcement or regulatory authorities when legally necessary.
Participants are responsible for knowing their particular and applicable governing policies of their states and licenses when practicing or teaching Presence Psychotherapy, as well as adhere to their professional standards for confidentiality.
